I love mystery series with gay protagonists and themes written by gay authors and was happy to find this one recently. It's well-constructed with a compelling main character, lots of sexy shenanigans (without being porny), and a satisfying conclusion. However, it's almost entirely spoiled by the most appalling and gratuitously cruel and dehumanizing fat-shaming, so much so that I'm not sure I can recommend it at all despite its many good qualities. If you do read it, skip chapter 13 to avoid the worst of it. Really disappointing!
