The overall story was nice but I hated how all the symbolism in the book was explained in the author rather than having the reader look for the clues. Also hated how entire chapters were in italics, was an eyesore

Wow. I did not expect this. I thought this was going to be a book about a love triangle, a girl that was not sure if she wanted to go back to her first love or not. But it turned out to be SO much more.
I want to be like Lily when I grow up. She is a strong woman, that made the right choice even if she knew it was going to be hard after. She made the right choice, not only for her, but for her daughter. She spoke up because she saw her mom going through the same thing, and she's such a role model for other women going through it.
I loved Kyle, I really did, thinking he was perfect and falling in love with him from the first chapter, and I was angry when he became abusive. Even if he went through a trauma as a child, he had NO RIGHT to treat Lily like that, even if he didn't mean it.
I am glad she's happy. I'm glad her mom is happy too. They deserve it.

it is a book inspired by real life. Everything that happens there you find in real life. unfortunately, life is not what we want. We have what is left of the book
