It’s not like I expected this to be some literary masterpiece let alone in any way “scary”. It’s an anthology of spooky stories for children and I am an adult. I realize that.
I don’t even know where I acquired this, it’s just one of those books that’s been sitting on my shelves for a decade and I only read on a whim to kick off the month of October.

But dude man, just because it’s for kids doesn’t mean it has to have terrible writing (the first story was so bad it seemed like it was a poor translation into English from a foreign language) and I’d bet good money that children wouldn’t find the first two stories scary in the slightest. The last one was definitely the best of the three; though obviously not great, it was at least potentially spooky for children.

Think it’s safe to add this one to my donation box.
