got hooked on page one and it was a fast paced read. Throughout the book I had a suspect in mind but it would change every few chapters but at the end this person was NEVER in my radar. Loved it and i highly recommended it

The plot itself was great. We really want to know what happened to Ben, but some things are annoying. The principal one being what is
the main character’s obsession with Owen? There is no proof it’s him, so instead of looking into who could have done it, she’s always blaming Owen for anything

The Almost Widow by Gail Anderson-Dargatz
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Looking for that fast-paced mystery thriller that won’t disappoint?  This could be it!  I loved getting in to this one. It started off quickly and brought in mystery and a host of possibilities for suspects just as fast.  I enjoyed the fact that closing in weather and a slew of mental health issues clouded the picture and kept you wondering where this would end. And there was a great ending.

I would say like 3.5 stars! Pretty good but not the best :)

Maybe thrillers aren't for me, maybe this book was the problem.
Why should I care about these cardboard characters I've barely met?
The writing felt somewhat tedious to me, lots of repetition and nothing that springs out. The theme of domestic abuse was also laid on so thick. I stopped halfway through when a certain trope occurred that made me roll my eyes, skipped to the end and rolled my eyes a few more times.
