After only 61 pages, I decided that this would be a DNF for me and sadly so, because I had so much hope for this book. The cover and the title were interesting enough to get me to pick it up, but after only a few chapters I just couldn't go on...
Slayed it Scott!!! This book tugs on all the feelings and then slowly lets them all go and then you are left feeling thoroughly ravished. Great job dude!! My Mama heart was crying and then so proud and happy almost like he was my own. I adore these 2 sweet lovebirds so much. And then the epilogue just completes me. Well done sir. Grab this gem quickly.
I liked this book. But I'll totally admit it's not my favorite by Scott. I've come to love his Selected Sinner books and Three fold and Karter. But Luke and Liv didn't measure up to them. At least to me. I still do recommend that you give this book a read because everyone has different likes and opinions.
4.5 Cocktails
This book is so much more than the title. Yes, the author used the "f" word **gasps**, but that one word does shape this book.
Liv and Luke have been best friends since they were young kids. They agree they couldn't get through life without the other in it. And when Liv finds herself bombing out in the dating world, her teasing comment about she and Luke becoming f-buddies suddenly holds a lot of interest for the both of them. And once they start down a certain path, they aren't sure why they never did it before.
Liv and Luke have deep feelings for one another, that was very clear. They worried that adding sex to their existing relationship was going to change things. But for them, it enhanced the bond they already had. They weren't afraid the other person was going to ridicule or belittle them as their explored whether Luke's sexual penashe was something Liv would like. That closeness make them admit some things about their feelings for each other that they may not have had the guts to do. Made them look at their relationship and realize what they had was either what they had been searching for or swore they didn't want.
I loved this book hard. Scott Hildreth has become a new favorite author of mine. He has an interesting voice and brings that little something to characters that always has me hooked. If you're looking for a read that's a little different, very hot, while at the same time very charming then pick up FUCK BUDDY. You won't be disappointed.

In this friends to lovers romance it is the women who is the one having to talk the man into something more. While neither one wants to do anything that will damage their life long friendship, she just wants to have sex without having to do the dating game anymore. He has some secrets that makes his sexual appetite different than your run of the mill guy. As they do their thing, she comes into her own and realizes things about herself. Things go great until she finds out about his secret and not only is their little arrangement threatened, but their friendship is as well. While the whole theme of the book centers around sex, not every scene is filled with sex, but what is included is pretty hot. The story moves along quickly. The characters are fun. He's more of a free spirit, and she is the opposite, yet they work well together. There are fun times and there are some dark times as well. Recommended for mature readers.
It was so bad it nearly made me cry.
Liv was poorly written and the way she decided she was a submissive, was really ridiculous.
Won't say anything about Luke. Dude was from the Twilight Zone.

Okay, I am finally writing a review, I promised one a week ago, but my feelings are obviously pretty apparent with this one. I'll leave this fun little comment here though: I liked this book so much that I kept trying to read it even though we were in a bar with friends. They all knew too, because I make faces when I read apparently and come on, it's smut, who's not turned on reading it?
Fuck Buddy is more than meets the eye, it isn't just a book with a hot guy on a cover, or just a controversial title that Amazon refused to back down on, it's also a heck of a lot more than smut, this book has depth, not that Scott's books never have depth, but this one is a mental challenge. There's always something about Scott's books that make me think, sometimes I connect and sometimes I don't, and in this case it was like knowing the characters in real life. I reach for books with friends to lovers story lines all the time, they're personal favorites, but this one is different. It brings to question how sex changes what was a safe place for two people and the feelings that come from that connection. For being friends for so long, there are still things between the two main characters, Liv and Luke, that are secrets. They're young, they're naive in relationships and sexually, and they're testing a friendship that means more to them than either will admit. They're the kind of characters that seem to work like clockwork, I don't question how they came to be or how they work, they just do. There's chemistry between them that can be felt by a reader, even when they're avoiding it. There's no doubt their sexual desires are not what other's consider normal, there's an element of BDSM between them that is new to Liv and still needs exploring by Luke, but they work out a balance between them and they find more than satisfaction with one another. The problem is the why's and the how's; they come together under pretense of fuck buddies and come apart at the seams when feelings evolve and personal secrets unfold. It was refreshing, let's just be honest. The relationship wasn't easy, the secrets are heavy, there's intense self discovery, and reading this wasn't convenient, but it sucked me in 100% and I couldn't put it down, not even for the bar I was in.
Fuck Buddy is real, I probably know a Luke and Liv in my life, and while it's heavy with emotions, it's the good kind. Mixed in with the occasional misplaced word and grammatical errors is more than just erotica, there's a unique story of love, sensuality, self discovery, and acceptance. I am never one for letting spelling and grammar slide, but even they couldn't take the enjoyment away from me with this one. It will speak to you on many levels, you may look at your own life and have questions when you finish, but you will be better for it.
P.S. Can I have a friend like Chloe in my life? Girl is a firecracker and her appearances brought some serious laughter and even more serious insight.

So different than what i expected
Let me just say I thought this book would be just as the title states. I don't really read blurbs before I dive in as I don't want to anticipate what may happen before it does I want to live it.
These 2 were awesome. Best friends from childhood and now they cross the line into fu¢# buddies. From there it takes a totally different turn than how other friends with benefits arrangements have been played out.
Secrets are revealed, hearts are broken and demons are put to rest.
Must read
