I really enjoyed this. I like this author's writing style and the way she structures romance. This was a slow burn, but not infuriatingly slow. Brogan actually showed a lot of growth throughout the book and I bought they're story and chemistry.
My one complaint is that London's sister Sierra seems incredibly inconsiderate for someone who supposedly always has her sister's back. How many times does she blindsided London into events involving her ex Chris, despite knowing how much of an asshole he is? Just because her fiance wants them to bury the hatchet doesn't mean she gets to force her sister to spend time with a man who treated her so poorly. I wish she'd stood up for London, but as it was at the end, I was not convinced she was truly looking out for her sister.
The other thing was that I was happy to see London had a platonic male friend/roommate, but he was written a bit too much like the gay best friend instead of the straight man he was meant to be. Just some of the dialogue didn't jive. But he was a cool guy and I liked their friendship.

Rating: 4⭐️
Narration: 5⭐️
Spice: 2🌶
Audiobook Review: If Jacob Morgan narrates it, it's most definitely a 5-star for me. Juno Cooper was new to me, but I loved her work. Again, this was a duet narration, so I loved it. Would recommend the audiobook for sure.
London is tired of receiving lipstick-covered envelopes doused in cheap perfume and, in some cases, possibly (definitely) used panties delivered to her PO Box, addressed to the previous owner, Brogan Six.
Brogan Six is the hot new football rookie for the Mavericks who has earned quite the reputation for partying and his playboy ways, which unfortunately puts him in a tough spot with the management.
When a chance encounter leads to her coming face-to-face with the very same man that has caused her to take endless trips to the post office to sort out his mess, London is furious and confronts him. Thinking that was the end of it, she walks away only to find a mail from Brogan in her mailbox the next day.
This eventually leads to a fake dating arrangement between London and Brogan, which would help fix Brogan's image and also benefit London, who now needs a plus one to her sister's wedding, which her ex is also a part of.
I really liked Brogan in Burnout, and I wanted to know more about this honorary Holland brother. I loved the way he addressed the Hollands as brothers. I especially loved his friendship with Archer. After living with parents who never cared about his presence no matter how hard he tried, Brogan truly felt like he had no one who would stay in his life just for him. Even now, being the star rookie only attracted people who wanted something from him. This truly broke my heart with how he viewed himself unworthy of having people be there for him.
It took him a while to come to the realization that his parents not choosing him had nothing to do with him and everything to do with who they were. And although he considered the Hollands as his family, he still kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, feeling like he was a part of them but always on the outside looking in. I loved how the Holland brothers showed up for him and made him realize that he truly was family, and blood isn't everything.
I liked London's character. Although she had a good relationship with her parents, they were still consistently at odds when it came to her career choice. Feeling like she was constantly disappointing them, it felt easier to diminish her achievements. I liked that this was finally addressed and that Brogan stood up for her and her parents were able to see how they'd unknowingly done more harm than good.
I truly despised Chris for what he did to London and felt terrible for London for having gone through that experience with her ex. And though she didn't want him back, I understood why she felt hurt when she saw him act unaffected.
I did enjoy the romance that developed between London and Brogan. What started with Brogan trying to apologize to London for the PO Box mix-up then turned into them getting into a fake dating arrangement. As they spent more time selling their story, they started developing very real feelings. I liked the banter between London and Brogan from the start. I loved how Brogan's goofy side was a contrast to London's shy side. The way they communicated through letters was adorable. Their late-night conversations also helped build on their friendship, which eventually turned into more. I get why London was reluctant when it came to Brogan and his intentions after her past experience with Chris. So it took her a while to get to know Brogan and eventually warm up to the idea of more with him. I'm glad that there was no third-act breakup.
The spice was really good, and these two were incredibly hot together. The spice didn't overshadow their relationship, so that was good. Again, since this was a duet narration, the spice just hit different.
Loved how involved the Holland brothers, Jane, and Avery were and how they supported both Archer and Brogan. I'm also intrigued by the addition of Sabrina and how her relationship with Brogan will take a turn.
Certain things that didn't sit well with me or needed to be fleshed out:
I honestly didn't like the way London's younger sister kept blindsiding her when it came to her ex, Chris. I get that it was a wedding setup and that he was her fiancé's brother, but that still doesn't justify her actions. I was honestly pissed at her sister for pulling that shit on multiple occasions and then being sorry and saying she'd ask him to leave if it made London uncomfortable.
There was some OW drama, which I honestly wasn't a fan of. There were a couple of instances when it happened right in front of London, but Brogan's reactions weren't all that remorseful. It made me feel weird to watch those encounters.
I didn't truly understand what Chris was even trying to achieve. Was he still interested in London or just didn't like knowing she'd moved on? IDC if he's her sister's fiancee's brother; what he did to London was enough grounds to ban him from the wedding. I also wasn't happy with the way that plot concluded because I was expecting London to put him in his place.
I also didn't get any conclusion to London's situation with her boss at work and how he claimed her work as his. I wish she'd stood up and gotten credit for her work or there was some resolution to that situation.

I also DNF the first book in the holland brothers series because it started boring me. I tried this one since reviews were a bit better but it was so mundane. I kept waiting for the plot to thicken or for them to at least go
More into depth with his complicated family or her relationship with her parents but I’m putting it down.
