The first section of the book (definately the best bit) details some of affects of climate charge and is both terrifying and depressing. The second is less the manual on how to take action i had hoped for and more details of the action already taken.

This book reminded me, and revealed to me in many cases, why urgent action is required to save our futures. It's a stark read. You might even describe it as horrifying - it's difficult to accept that this is the state of the world.
But it is. This book also tells you how we can change it.
"In October 2018 the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) issued a stark warning: enact urgent measures to limit global warming within the next twelve years or irrevocably deplete the ecosystems that sustain human life on Earth." - Hazel Healy
"Having worked for over twenty-five years in environmental sustainability, I find it hard to accept that my career has added up to nothing; my sense of self is shaken because I had believed humanity would win in the end." - Professor Jem Bendell

A nice way to learn more about Extinction Rebellion and the climate crisis. Very readable due to the length of the essays, on average a chapter is probably around 5 pages, which I think is great as an introduction. The essays were varied, some were more in-depth, others were quite general. I also loved the design, there are some beautiful illustrations in there. One thing that was a little annoying was that the people who wrote the essays were not introduced, so if you wanted to know who was writing it, you had to look that up yourself, which I thought was unnecessary.
This is just necessary reading! whether you want to join the rebellion or not. There is certain information and understanding we all need to have about out situation on the planet right now. If you don’t feel dutiful and loving towards the planet or don’t care about climate change, its important that we all do what we can TO care. Because its absolutely essential!
