Well, first off, how can any book that contains any garden of Piet Oudolf be anything but fabulous? Along with seasonal images of this reclaimed New York garden are the history behind its "creation" with the collaborator's tales, the toils in maintaining, the listing (with images) of the habitat plants, and just so much more. A good read aside all the vivid, full-color (and often full page) images of this lush landscape with speckled sculptures, pathways, sitting areas and surrounding cityscapes, making this one of my favorite garden books to date. Even the dying images of fall were gorgeous into the sleepiness of winter. I appreciated the noted plants, as there were many I would love to add to my own garden. The index, end notes & suggested reading were also valuable. At well over 300 pages, this coffee table book is just beyond mere recommending.
