Such a beautiful short book. Readers know this is about the covid pandemic but the sadness and heartbreak transcend the illustrations and could reflect any personal tragedy. It illustrates sadness and loneliness in the beginning but by the end our characters have risen beyond the confines of grief. Uplifting and hopeful.

Hele mooie tekenwerken met mooie tekst. Het gaat over de corona periode maar het is op het hele leven tegenwoordig van toepassing.

I don't know how to feel about this one. It's too short, it took me five minutes to read I felt like I wanted more depth.
The artwork is incredible, absolutely loved it.
I think the issue I have is that I went into it thinking it was going to be like The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse (which is so incredibly special and meaningful to me) and this just didn't live up to that so I'm going to blame Charlie Mackesy for making other things pale in comparison to his work.

Poignant for anyone who has been through the pandemic and a real touching piece of work, that I imagine using with my children when I am older.
