  • Overall the series has a good plot, the only reason for the lower score is that these books should have been merged to only 2 or 3 books rather than 6
  • The ending seemed a bit rushed, although it made sense it seemed to be wrapped up to quickly, and missed out describing what happened to the free dragons etc

Cockroach? Meet boot.

Always sad to reach the end of a series.

Luckily, there will always be more books to read.

Secret of the Dragon: A Dragon Riders of Elantia Novel is the final book in this series by Jessica Drake. What can I say about this book? Honestly, …this book hits the ground running and never lets up with the danger, intrigue, and action! The author picks up right where the last book left off and takes the reader on a fantastic ride with lots of surprises and twists. War is rampant through Elantia and the enemy is looking to solidify their hold and even expand out to strengthen their forces. Good thing that Zara and Lessie have no intentions of letting them do so quietly. After escaping a close call with death, they have been able to recover with the aid of some new friends and reunite with her fiancé. The race is on to defeat the evil Salcombe. Questions are answered, and with a little divine intervention, a couple heads up a couple bad situations are avoided or better prepared for.
Secret of the Dragon is fascinating and the characters are well developed. I loved the pace of this story and how the author kept me engaged from the beginning all the way to the end. There aren’t any dry spots to slow the book down or have the reader loose interest. I love Zara’s intensity in this book and her continued determination to do the best for her people and the dragons. The discovery of the free dragons really takes this book to another level, and truly makes it one you don’t want to put down.
There is honestly nothing that I don’t like about this book. The author does a fantastic job writing this book and giving the readers everything that they could possibly want. You get the right amount of romance between Zara and Tavarian. You get a nice balance of the storyline of where the good guys have their moments, and the bad guys have theirs. For those who are hoping for an HEA…you even get that.
If you have read this series and enjoyed it as much as I have and are looking to read the conclusion I highly recommend you grab this book. I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. You won’t be disappointed.
