Complex, and complicated story. The first half is clear and easy to follow but once all the layers get involved I had trouble keeping everybody straight, partly because I was listening. Well told and pretty compelling.

I read this because I'm also taking a course on competition law, and had seen the book referred to in many papers. This kind of academic writing isn't intended as a captivating read, so references to a novel definitely got my attention.

It's gobsmacking that The Informant is a true story; the case described is simply nuts in its proportions, complexities and irregularities.

In addition to being a fun story, it's also a really good insight into how antitrust cases are prosecuted, which has been useful in my studies.

I'd recommend this to anybody studying law (especially competition law) in a heartbeat, but to the general reader, is caution that there are lots of characters and the complexity of the book can make it a tougher read a times unless you're dedicated. Even so, I'd still recommend it :)

Brilliantly reported, thrillingly recounted. The Informant is a pretty amazing look into the minds of white-collar criminals and the lies they tell others as well as themselves.

This book was interesting enough, but so. Slow. I so rarely dnf books, especially not when I’m 46% through, but realistically, I don’t see myself going back to finish this one. If that changes, I will update the review, but for now, dnf.

This is an incredible book. The facts are so crazy that you almost can't believe it is non-fiction. It is a quick read, despite being a long book. They are making it into a movie this year, with Matt Damon as the lead character.

A big book but thoroughly engaging. The author has put in great research effort and also makes the account very engaging. It's a perplexing read especially in the beginning making you think why is this book so long, then it starts to unravel.

Bizarre as the story goes, it is also fascinating where one person put the FBI at odds with the dept. of justice.

To think that corruption readily exists in the highest echelons of management and then also that it is intertwined with the political machinery. So long as you have contributed to the machinery and can continue to do so, you will escape punishment.

Well worth a read.
