oh, wow, this ending . . . never mind the constant references to the beauty and perfection of Alderaan.

Alderaan . . .

ALDERAAN IS PEACEFUL, WE HAVE NO WEAPONS

sigh

Star Wars books usually vary in quality but so far Claudia Gray's Leia novels are quite good.

This book really shows Leia and her family and how she evolved into the woman we see in the movies.

It's weird to read about Leia as a youth. But it definitely foreshadows the things we know happened.

This book is boring, uneventful, and does not warrant its own existence. I love Claudia Grey, but even she could not make this story concept interesting enough to hold attention over the hundreds of pages. Plus it’s just a direct rip-off of the structure and plot beats of the much more interesting and engaging Heir to the Jedi from three years prior.
