The book is not as funny as the first book. Even though it is enjoyable and it harder to predict what will happen next than the first book of the series it has some parts that do not make the characters realistic for example an important character from the book may have died and the author didn't mention commented anything about the death .The end is very nice and shocking!

While it is true that this is my least favourite of the series, I still love it very very much. And my recent reread just completely proves that point. I didn't expect it to enjoy as much as I did so here's a list of the things that I liked:

- Percabeth bonding moments
- Different side to Clarisse
- Hamster!Percy
- WeddingDress!Grover
- Percy and Clarisse bonding moments
- Tyson 🥺
- Establishing the extent of Luke's evilness
- Thalia Grace is in the scene yo
- Percy discovering that he's a human GPS now
- Nobody!
- Percy vs. Luke face-off
- Tantalus getting what he deserved (no burgers)

2 hours 6 mins - Very fast-paced read, lots of plot events relating to Greek mythology which is interesting to read about with a modern spin. However, not as good as the first book in the series, the premise is not quite as good but still a very good read, and the twist at the end is good and unexpected!

Re-reading these because I'm doing a Percy Jackson event at the library later this summer and I want the stories to be fresh in my mind! I always forget how quick these read, and I think that's partly why kids love them so much. They are fast paced and packed with action. This one brings the story further and ups the stakes, and you get a sea adventure on top of it!
