The Cinderella-like retelling made it a touch cliché but after a while I forgot that it started like that because the story had a different twist than the Cinderella stories do.
There was a point sometime in the middle where it got slow and I just felt like it needed to hurry up but then the entire last chapter I was wishing went forever.
All in all, I ended up loving it. I’m a sucker for clichés.
I’ve found a new favourite character in Posy. I want her to have her own book.

I loved this! There was a touch of Cinderella to it that was perfect and finally a Bridgerton boy tried to reel in his anger. Also the family teasing and the romantic teasing were just perfect.

Look. I know I said it before, but I’m going to say it again: THIS one is my favorite book of the series! Benedict has been my favorite brother since the first season and this book did not disappoint!

All the siblings are present but it’s so nice to see Benedict shine. It was so sweet to see him open up about his role in his family and his desires to be known as something other than “Bridgerton Number 2”. And I absolutely adored seeing him fall first; it felt like a very “Benedict” thing to happen.

Sophie Beckett is a force to be reckoned with and a perfect match for Benedict. She is fierce, strong willed, and very much so her own person, regardless of her social standing. She is quick witted (like the rest of the Bridgerton women) and not afraid to have her own thoughts. Her story is touching and heartbreaking and you can’t help but love her yourself.

I can’t swoon enough about Benedict and this book. I finished it in two days and have been talking myself out of devouring the rest of the series for fear of total obsession. I’ve got a LOT to say about the second season of Bridgerton and the fact that they’re pushing Colin’s season up, but I can only hope that when they get to Benedict’s story, it’s done as well as it’s written in this book.
