dark emotional tense

Plunged into a world she was kept from,
only to learn that her world isn't as it
should be. You have 4 aplha-holes(Sterling,
Alaric, Gideon and Theo) doing everything
to make Harlow like them, breaking
her down, while building her back up.
Everyone is around them is a suspect, we
don't really know who the baddy is, but he/she
is there and it's making their presence known.
That cliffy was definitely unexpected that's
for sure. Can't wait for the next book.

I… I can forgive bad plot lines, misspelled words, but once the physical aspects of the sex stopped making sense… I was so hopeful bc I love some RH/sword crossing magic, but this was disappointing

3.75 ⭐️ 2🌶️ (But the build up to the spice that I think will be in the second book was *chefs kiss*)

This was a good read and a fun premise. It ended in a cliffhanger that has been scrambling to start the next book asap.

I enjoy the secret society theme more than I thought I would.

I like the characters overall, but I feel like we didn’t really get to know too much about the 4 MMC’s making it hard to have a strong opinion on them. This would be fine for me if this were a trilogy, but because it’s a duology I have concerns about becoming invested in their characters before we are wrapping the story up.

The section where the men decide they know how to fix deep seated trauma and the decisions made around that terribly thought out plan- gave me the ick.

I did enjoy this though and it helped break the reading slump I was having.

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

The book ends on a cliffhanger and hasn’t fully ramped up yet. Great chemistry between Harlow and the Lords.

- Age gap
- Why choose, MMFMM with no MM
- D/s
- Possessive MMCs
- Ownership/“ours”
- 🍑 (A/H)
- Dub-con (S/H)

TW for historical rape of FMC

Probably working towards poly and breeding but not there yet. Overall, I’m hoping this is a good appetizer for the rest of the series.
