This is one of those books I honestly have no idea how to review or rate...
(I rounded up from 3.5)

I hadn't read anything about it, and saw it in the Book of Horror FB group a few times, so I figured I'd check it out.

Is it a creepy read? Is it a horror? (Hmmm horror-ish at best.) Twisted emotionally? Sure, I'd give it all of those.

The ending is definitely a WTF moment, one that made me scratch my head and get that "huh" look most definitely. I'm sure I'm going to give it a re-read or re-listen because...

This book probably wins the award for most reviews starting with what the hell did I just read?! or some variation of that. After finishing this I had to wonder for myself what the hell did I just read?????

I truly don't know how to rate this book or review it. I enjoy books where everything is a mystery and you have to think for yourself to understand it. I'm Thinking of Ending Things was brilliant in that aspect for me. I was having fun while reading trying to predict where things were gonna go (I could not). And I've been having fun reading theories and discussions. I wanna go back and reread this soon, now having an idea of the ending, and see all the little things I missed and how they connect to the ending.

Anyways I'm not gonna say anything about the plot because I think its best to go into this knowing nothing at all. This is very strange and definitely not for everyone's taste.

Fantasticly eerie and deeply disturbing. Audio version definitely adds to the experience.

A quick, horror/thriller book about a couple traveling to visit the boyfriend’s family. The story is written from the girlfriend’s point of view as she tries to decide whether this relationship is right for her. This one left me trying to navigate and process all the subtleties. Not sure how to rate this one.

Hated the writing - maybe it was supposed to be part of the plot but it was way too much “I’m 14 and this is deep”

Still don’t fully understand the twist (even though it was somewhat predictable) but don’t care enough to waste my time re-reading
