Oh my goodness what a beautiful story. I picked from my shelf the week that the US withdrew from Afghanistan in Aug 2021. I felt that this would be an appropriate next read. It has been. The basic needs of everyone all over the world are the same. This story revels not only the love but the ugliness that is within us as well. There are so many things that may happen along the path of our lives to either enhance or even diminish them. The disruption of lives in Kabul for so many different reasons quite often is due to ignorance and greed. The connection of family that holds us together and fills holes in us is what this story tells. From the beginning with Pari and her brother Abdullah and their different journeys through life to the connection through Nabi, Markos and Thalia that help to maintain and reconnect. Loved this story.
