Picked this book up from my local library and gave it a go. It was an interesting read. Not my usual type of book to read. Jenna is the main character who tries to figure out what had happened to her as her parents kept it in the dark worried about how she would respond. Very different book.
Read this awhile ago - noticed that the second is out and that I never added this one!

I can see why this book was so highly recommended in some class' textbooks; it is incredibly well-developed, thought-provoking and keeps it short and sweet. A FANTASTIC dystopa/sci-fi, especially for those readers who want something that's not super edgy.
It's a book that really makes you pause and reflect about ethics and medical procedures and what it means to be human. Fantastic and well-written!

The Good: Mysterious, emotional and surprising. Though I suspected what was going on from the beginning, that didn't spoil the midpoint reveal. I loved the questions this novel explored, what it means to be human, what it means to love so much you can't let someone go. I also liked the chapters of poetry snuck in amongst the prose.
The Bad: Halfway through, when Jenna learns what she is, her reaction was one I couldn't identify with. Why was she angry at her parents? If that was me, I'd be so grateful and relieved and happy. Most people would be! But the more I read the more I realized that in this future world what had been done for Jenna was not condoned or accepted. That future viewpoint, and the fact that Jenna shares it, could have been set up better.
In Conclusion: This was a beautifully written, mysterious book. I'll definitely check out the next two books in the Fox Chronicles.

Didn't expect this book to be nearly as good as it was. The jacket description doesn't do it justice but does a good job of not suggesting the type of book it really is.

Found this on a reading list somewhere. Interesting riff on identity and what makes us human
Sometime in the future teenager Jenna Fox wakes up from a long coma after an accident. She doesn't remember who she is or what happened. This short, quick book follows Jenna on her road to discovering what her parent's aren't telling her, who she was, and who she is now.
Edit* Just noticed this says Jenna Fox #1 on the coer but since the story was wrapped up pretty well, I'm not sure what another book would be about.
