Interesting sci fi with sinister medical policy undertones. Not my usual read but I did not mind it~ actually had some insightful, thought-provoking themes related to government run health care and euthanasia, life saving techniques and medical ethics.

I’m glad I finally got around to reading this book! It’s worth a read and unlike any book I’ve read so far. The subjects this book goes into is amazing. Ethics, finding one’s identity, grief…. I’m curious as to what the other books in this chronicle are about. The wrap up is so satisfying and well done that I’m perfectly content and happy with this book being a stand alone.

I loved this book!! Its exactly what I like to read. It was Sci Fi, fantsy but it made sense.

Love this for 7th/8th graders & older. How far should science go to save lives? Fast-pace, concise writing & a ton of ideas in a great plot. And the hero is a girl.

I liked this book, but I wish the ending would have been different. I am curious about the sequels. I will recommend this book to my students who have read other current science fiction like Unwind. This book is not as good as Unwind, but I still really liked it!

I had a really detailed review all written out, and then the goodreads app crashed in my final sentence and none of it saved. So basically — meh book. Won’t read more.

This book had me the first half and lost me the second half. It turned into something different than what I thought when I started reading.

I read this book for school, which often does influence how I feel about those novels since you have to read carefully and because there's a deadline.

That being said, the book was okay in my opinion. The conflicts which are shown were mostly interesting to me (e.g. how science and humanity affect & will affect nature and humans, morals, identity etc.; probably good to discuss in class)
I also think the reader was able to empathize and relate to characters concerning certain aspects.

However, I did sometimes get bored because the story seemed to be monotonous or repetitive and I was annoyed at characters, for example Jenna's Parents.
