I loved this book. Even though it is a young adult book I felt the story was compelling and would hold adult attention as well. It is extremely well written. Poetic, descriptive, and haunting at times. Wish I had time To read it again.

This book was so much more than I had anticipated. As someone who typically does not like sci-fi/fantasy/futuristic literature, this was perfect. While at times Jenna's reactions to situations struck me as inauthentic, I also had to realize that her reactions were not coming from a purely human place. This book made me think in ways I hadn't thought since I read "Tuck Everlasting" years ago. Pearson did an excellent job of creating a view of the future that seemed entirely plausible while stretching the mind to wrap around what seems impossible. I cannot wait to read the sequel "The Fox Inheritance" to see how Jenna, Kara, and Locke reunite.

3.5 stars.

This book would have been adored by 15 year old me. However, 23 year old me feels slightly differently but I still enjoyed this book.
I’m not really sure how to review this or even say what is about. I think it’s best to go in blind or knowing little about this book which is what I did.
However you can expect…
- a strong family premise
- a girl trying to regain her memories after an accident
- good writing, pacing and plotting with a good ending

I would honestly have loved to have read this when I was younger and I really enjoyed some of the SCI-FI elements this book had. I think it would be a good starter for people who are dipping their toes into this genre without it over crowding the book or not making sense!

I really got sucked into this book from the beginning. Jenna Fox wakes up from a coma and has no idea who she is anymore. She spends the first half of the book trying to find out. And the answers she receives are astounding. This is definitely a sci-fi type book, so it won't be at all what you think!

This book was inspired by the author's own daughters who were diagnosed with cancer. The whole novel explores how far a parent will go for their child, what risks they are willing to take, and the ethics that go with their choices.

I enjoyed the mystery, all the twists and turns, and even the science behind this story. It turned out to be very unpredictable, but the end left me wanting a bit more. I can't even imagine something like this novel, so I appreciated the creativity and imagination.

I really enjoyed this book. It was very well written, poetic even. A very unique story and fascinating read. Few books that I've read allow me to really connect with a character like this one, Jenna's reactions to the situation she's in was very believable. My only complaint is I wish the supporting characters had been developed a little more. Her relationship with Ethan was very underdeveloped and Dane was an enigma because he was constantly called a criminal but didn't really do anything criminal, I wished his story was elaborated on.

I got this book from a “blind date with your book“ event at my local library. I was really excited to read it and I wasn't disappointed.
This book raises some interesting and nowadays important questions. It was predictable what would happen but I don't think the point of the book was to not let the reader on what was going on, so I don't think that was bad. The ending stated a clear opinion about some of the questions that had been raised, which was again interesting to think about.
This was a quick read and I enjoyed it. I'm glad I picked it up at the event.

Jenna's parents had two choices ahead, to keep her alive or let her die. They made a choice any parents in the world would have made. How Jenna will react when she understand the truth about herself. Will she accept her new self?!

Truth to be told,I have mixed feelings about genetic engineering, what I'm trying to say is I can't decide how far it should go.If I were in Jenna's parents' shoes,I would definitely do the same thing, however,I think it's kind of playing God,isn't it? I'm in two minds really!!

The ending took me by surprise . No way did I expect a happy ending. Unexpected it was , however, it made the book more lovely in my eyes, since I'm a fan of happy endings! And I gave it an extra star, just for the sake of this unexpected ending!

DID NOT FINISH: 40%

A little too middle grade for my tastes.
It's pretty obvious that after whatever accident she has, they've not downloaded her into a robot or something.
And maybe that's not it or there's a twist, but after 106 pages, I need a little more movement or reveal or something.

The Adoration of Jenna Fox is fast read, but it is intense. Jenna spends most of the book trying to figure out who she is and whether she is even allowed to exist anymore. Her parents are a little obsessive about her, but it seems to come from a place of love. I thought Jenna's interactions with Lily were some of the most interesting, and I enjoyed her conversations with Mr. Bender as well. This is one of those books that had you asking what makes a person human, and whether that definition can change, and I really enjoyed those questions a lot. I definitely recommend this one.
