Award-winning children’s author Caryl Hart turns her attention to the world’s oceans in this bright, psychedelic picture book that has turned the hues of our world into orange, yellow and blue.

This one’s for our youngest readers in your lap, to explore all the oceans of the world.

It also builds an early awareness, through rhyming text, of the characteristics of each and every ocean. Of course it also addresses very subtly, the impact of humans on marine animals. The ocean continues to bear the brunt of both global warming and plastic pollution.

Quite uniquely, each ocean is personified on a full spread. I think it’s rather cool that the young reader addresses and responds to the ocean as a grandfatherly creature.

This was a really wonderful and colourful book that we read for bedtime.

My daughter liked how it advises the risks from dropping your litter and she will now be thinking about what happens to her rubbish.

My son liked everything about this especially how the seas and oceans had expressions, especially on the Pacific.

They think their friends would like it and would tell them to read it
