I liked this, but it felt fast? Not short, by any means, but rushed through plot points and meanings. As well as emotions. Honestly, I’m enjoying that it’s s slow burn with some reluctance and resistance to the relationships, as the newly formed and forced bonds give off heat that could have easily made thus a fast burn.

Pros:
- Gargoyles. There aren’t enough novels out there with gargoyles.
- I’m not 100% down with the FMC, but she’s growing on me.

Cons:
- Even for a PNR, the happenings are a bit much.
- Rushed scenes.
- First real fight scene lacked tension.

This story just keeps getting better! The chaos and mystery, the intensity and desire, the love and lust, the protectiveness and danger. This story had it all! There was so much to love about this book I can’t even put full thoughts and feelings into words.

I absolutely LOVE Katarina! She is strong, courageous and brave. She is kind and resilient. She is a character that you cannot help but love and admire. The fact that despite everything she continues to powerful through, fight for herself, her destiny and those she cares form is admirable. She has accepted and grown found of this path that has chosen her.

And then there are her guardians...Jax, Quinn, and Roark. Each unique and special in their own way. Sworn to protect the chosen one who caries this special magic that protects the pararealm. But with Katarina there is so much more than a sworn duty, even if they may not want to admit it or accept it yet.

This story was full of twists and turns. Always keeping you guessing and dying for more! I loved every second and cannot wait to dive into book 2!
