3.5, enjoy the read when it picked up. Main character was much more interesting when she wasn’t busy being a dumbass. Wish there were more character development and background.
I rarely find an Amazon Prime early reads (Pre-Pub) book that I like, but this one a huge exception. I loved it!
There was an engaging story and good historical detail. I liked the period setting and use of the San Francisco earthquake as a plot turning device, not just background.
I heartily recommend this book.

I loved this book! It started out a little slow, but once it picked up speed, so many things were happening and I just couldn't wait to see what happened next.
Unexpectedly Delightful
I don't usually read historical fiction. That's miss to my mother's taste. I read this book on a whim and it was captivating. I was invested in the characters and was eager to read to the end.
I had to trade for less compelling writing in the evenings so that I could actually get some sleep.

So i was entranced by this story. I felt like i was in San Francisco in the early 1900s.
