The hype for this series is so well deserved! I loved the unique magic in this book and the lovable characters! The worlds V.E. Schwab has created is so intricate and awesome and the details that went described them was really worth reading. The characters will steal your heart, (literally for Lila Bard)! Although romance is little to none in this book, you still feel satisfied at the end. (This is coming from a romance lover!) It is a fast-paced book and ANY fantasy lover has to read this one! You can't help but continue to flip the pages even though it is wayyyy past your bedtime. (Believe me on this one!) Cannot wait to borrow the next book from my library!

This was a rather fun fantasy swashbuckler, the characters are well drawn, the action is well written and the world (or worlds) functions well and has a soul and vitality to it. My only criticisms are that the story arc in Grey London just ends, and it’s obvious as a British Reader that Schwab is less confident in describing Regency London than the Fantasy London’s, this is understandable but it leaves a little to be desired.
