I enjoyed reading this, but it was like a few chapters that had been knocked off the upcoming book or something. In other words, I don't think it was worth what I paid for it, which is disappointing. Still, I am looking forward to the next book in the series, but I'm going to be more discriminating about buying any spin off fiction in the future.

A nice very short iteration of the reckoners in Newcago surrounding one specific Epic. To my taste it was a bit too short for good character development. Our protagonist is still bad at metaphors and takes a lot of risks. Furthermore, the prof was conveniently out of town to make the plot happen.

Luckily there is a clear purpose to the story as well. It shows some of the growth that Newcago has made since the defeat of Steelheart.

This was okay. I've never cared much for short stories, and this was so short it felt like it could have just been a chapter in the next book.
