Pretty interesting graphic novel that follows one Canadian family through the War of 1812. It became the textbook for the portion of my Social Studies 10 class as we were studying the war.

It is nice to have books focused on Canadian history. I think the format is a nice way to introduce history to younger people.

Fitting that my very first graphic novel is about such a geeky subject: Canadian History. Perfectly researched and great for kids and history nerds. I hope it has inspired more interest in this almost forgotten war.

I found this other book during the High Level Aurora-con. I met one of the people that were behing this book and immediately bought because Canadian history comics are thin on the ground. This is an amazing book that does a great job of having a family be caught in the middle of history. The story is top notch and so is the art. I loved how they covered all of the crucial points and brought humanity to it. Great book.
