The second in the triology, the Celestial Globe is what I would call low-fantasy historical fiction. While you need to read the first to really understand what you're getting into, it introduces you to a variety of magical ideas and political races to get rare, strange magical items, as well as abuse of power and so much more, all while giving beautiful representation to strong young girls and the beauty of Romani culture that I craved so dearly as a child.
The series is a must-read for anyone who enjoys some easier to read fiction, never mind the suggested age range, that still gives challenging and dark ideas room to speak.

Graphic: Racial slurs, Racism, Torture, Xenophobia, Kidnapping, and Death of parent
Moderate: Animal death, Death, Violence, and War
The Romani slur, "gypsy", is used loosely throughout the series, though characters are largely reprimanded for it. Several other upsetting topics like death, torture, and so much more are dealt with.
