This book is like 3th book in this series boring and flat like L.J "writing".
But moving on this definitely last book I will ever read from LJ and I'm serious. Curiosity always gets best of me but no more with her. She will probably milk her two favorites Vicious & Emilia and Cillian & Persephone (cousins ships) by making about their kids. Someone will have two daughters and all are going to be enemies to lovers because no matter what she is saying it's always enemies to lovers. Anyways I will like to thank ghostwriter for writing Bane and probably Pretty Reckless.

Not really a dark romance
Leaving aside the totally unbelievable British royalty angle, this was classic LJ Shen. I have enjoyed the Boston Belles novels, and this was a suitable finish to the series. It's not on a par with The Villain, which was my favourite in the series, but still has the right mix of angst, steam, romance and sass. You're in safe hands with this author, who very rarely disappoints.

Devon, you should be counting your blessings every day that a hot girl like Belle would even give you the time of day you crusty old man!

LJ ROCKED THIS ONE! If you want a romance with a side of age gap, mystery, filled with sarcasm YOU WILL LOVE THE RAKE! Devon & Belle’s witty sense of humor had me belly laughing with some of the things they would say. The love they shared for one another and the fight they both put up to see it was entertaining. The Rake was such an easy read. I am SAD to see the Boston Belle’s series come to an end but LJ ended it in a fabulous way.

Awesome read
I loved how we got to see what made Devon and Belle the people they are today. I definitely recommend to heed the trigger warning at the beginning of the book. I loved the way Belle and Devon interact between each other, calling each other names and just out for the good time, while underneath it all there's really a deep affection for the other. They just don't recognize it because they both have sworn off love and relationships.
