Awesome read

I loved how we got to see what made Devon and Belle the people they are today. I definitely recommend to heed the trigger warning at the beginning of the book. I loved the way Belle and Devon interact between each other, calling each other names and just out for the good time, while underneath it all there's really a deep affection for the other. They just don't recognize it because they both have sworn off love and relationships.

Overall I enjoyed the book, wrapping up the Boston Belles series. I really liked the mmc. As far as the fmc, I know her past trauma (which was substantial) was a huge contributing factor to her character but the excessive ball busting got a little old for me, so did the “bros”, “dudes” and the yawning ‘I don’t care’ attitude.I loved her independence and sarcasm tho.

well. that’s the end of boston belles, and the end of me reading lj shen for a WHILE. the stories are just too predictable man, same w the epilogues and everything. devon and emmabelle were definitely one of my fav couples, although if i’m being honest i don’t even remember the other three, and that’s saying a LOT bc i remember the sinners of saints books VIVIDLY(that was rlly lj shens peak in my opinion) regardless, it was a good story (even though i usually hate romances w pregnancies), all the killing and almost murder was quite unrealistic, these people forgive and forget way too easily. but still it was a nice end for a nice group and as predictable as it was, the writing stills ends up being pretty decent.

I liked this series so much and honestly I feel a bit disappointed on this last installment.

I hated Belle on some chapters, yeah I get it she had a traumatic experience as a teen, and then witnessed her father’s cheating but what she needed was therapy not just self defense classes.

I hated how at times it seemed she thought all the other girls were weak and she was the only accomplished and strong one, the only independent one.

I hated how toxic she was to herself even when she knew she was being toxic and how she kept comparing Devon with her coach when time and time again he tried to make things work.

I hated how little communication these two had for more than half of the book.

I hated how she magically got cured of all her toxic thoughts without professional help.

And I hate how she kept her secret to herself even when she had hundreds of chances to lean on her friends and learn to forgive herself for being a kid and naive and falling in the hands of a predator.

After the villain I was so excited for this book and maybe that’s one of the reasons why it felt like it didn’t deliver but that’s the sad true.

Also I hated there was no epilogue for all couples :(
