I think it's a great evolution that Rick Riordan has had as an author that lends back to the original Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian series with the return to more tangible stakes, as well as adding storylines that are feminist and casually queer.

Apollo’s journey is certainly one full of strife and hardships. He has lost people he considered family and his emotional growth is so apparent because he wouldn’t have cared at all about these Demi gods if he were still a god. I hope he keeps his promise to Jason Grace.

I liked this one! (Spoiler review) Franks unexpected suicide turned he’s alive! And free of the stick! Was a cool twist that I really liked! Seeing Hazel turned into a praetor was happy, the death of two of the three emperors was great, and Reyna joining the hunters seemed very fitting for her character. I also liked that we were reunited with peaches! Now let’s finish this shit up. Kick Nero’s ass return Apollo to his godhood.

This is my least favorite of the Trials of Apollo series. The stakes did not seem high enough. The book opens with an hourglass-type injury, but because I knew there was a fifth book, I didn't feel the urgency.
