My dad and I have very similar book tastes. He introduced me to the Hunger Games and Stephen King, which I’ve only read one book by him. Regardless, I know who he is thanks to Dad. We share a love for historical books about World War II. He got this book for Father’s Day and devoured it. As soon as he finished it, he gave it to me to read. I quickly devoured it as well.
This book was so incredibly sad. While the author isn’t a writer by profession, the story was written well. Its story needed to be told. It’s important to never forget the atrocities that happened.
What I did like about this book was it talked about what happened after liberation from the camps. I haven’t read a lot of books that talked about that. And wow, it made me so mad. No one seemed to want to help these people. It infuriated me the way we treat our fellow humans.
Overall, this was a good book and I truly enjoyed it despite what the topic of it was about. It's very difficult to read due to the nature of this book. It’s a short book so it can be read pretty quickly. I highly recommend it.
