Due to some sexual content this really isnt for the YA...had it not had the sex scenes, it would have been ideal.

The book is so easy to read...flows well, characters consistent.

So basically Teagan was attacked 4 years ago. She KNEW it wasn't human. But no one listened to her - she was even sectioned until she learnt she just had to say that it WAS a human.
She throws herself into martial arts an self defence to protect herself. She has no life, she lives in shadows and fear.
Until one night she sat and turned on the webcam that shows the beach she lives by and she likes to watch the sunset. This night.....she saw a man and a woman on the cam....the man was digging...the woman by the side.....then he suddenly dumps the body in the sand and buries her. Teagan is speechless...floored. More because the glowing eyes. The same glowing eyes of her attacker.... She called the police who found nothing....whod believe her now?
She searches for PI....spending call after call to find someone, but noone can.....she spots a PI and "paranormal investigator"......what could be the harm?

Gabe is that PI. He is also the demon slayer. And believes her. And fancies the pants off her. Good job she feels the same......

Gabe tries to keep her away from the demons, but Teagan is determine to help and not just stand by.

Turns out, the demon who bit her, meant to kill her 4 years ago....hes back to claim her an is sending minions and minions after her...

Teagan has this massive scar on her shoulder that wont heal......will the demon get a chance to finish the job?
Will Gabe let his defences down for Teagan? After learning the hard way of having someone he cared about payin the price for being the slayer.....it doesn't look likely...
How on earth can Teagan get her head around the fact that DEMONS exist??
Basically....can these two be a partnership? Romantically or work wise?

Nice easy read, no heavy storyline, and quite sweet.

Demons can be fun to read about - especially when they are unique. Lisa Kessler has some very unique demons in her world (I really liked Lago) that the demon slayer, Gabe, has to deal with. When the very cute Tegan shows up asking for his help, he knows that he won't be able to turn her down. But when he starts to fall for her, he's afraid that history will repeat itself and she'll end up getting hurt because of him. Tegan, on the other hand, is bound and determined to make the most of her life (finally) - and that includes killing the demon that attacked her and finding what might be between her and Gabe.

I loved the fact that they were both totally kick ass - but at the same time needed to have each other's back to defeat the demons. The demons were varied in the attacks and vulnerabilities, and some were even informants for the good guys. It was fantastic. Kessler introduced a lot of Welsh lore and I would have liked to see a little more of the history than the little stippets we got.

I recently discovered Lisa Kessler's books and have enjoyed everything that I have read so far. When I got the notification for BEG ME TO SLAY I had no doubt I would enjoy it and I wasn't disappointed.

When Tegan sees her attacker on video killing another woman she calls the police. They didn't believe her so she took things into her own hands and found a private investigator. Gabe is nothing like she thought he would be and neither of them know that their fates were tied together many years ago.

After Tegan survived her attack she pretty much vowed she would never be a victim again. After 4 years she is now a black belt and runs her own dojo. She knows how to protect herself and when Gabe insists on acting as her bodyguard she makes it clear to him that she can protect herself. Gabe isn't your normal PI, he also slays demons, and it doesn't hurt that he is super easy on the eyes. Both characters were pretty interesting on their own but together they really bring the story together. We find out that Tegan's family history might be the reason for her attack and her surviving all those years ago and we also watch as Gabe lets his walls downs and learns to care about someone again. The relationship is anything but smooth but watching them find themselves in each other was great.

BEG ME TO SLAY was suitably fast paced and filled with action like Kessler's other books. The world has plenty of unique points and there are even some great lessons stuck between the pages. My favorite character besides the couple? Tegan's Dad! I'm glad I read this and I'm positive you will be too.

Plan to finish this before New Year, but failed. So.. this is the first book I finish read this year. Yay me! ;))

Tegan Ashton is a survivor, after she'd bitten by a guy she met, and her wound is not a mere wound for it's look nasty. 4 years later, life in fear and constant alert, Tegan discover her attacker buried some corpse. No one believe her and still think that Tegan is nuts, so she hire Gabriel a paranormal P.I. Not take a long time for them to fall for each other, but Gabe is just not ordinary mortal, for he is a demon slayer. And the guy who attack Tegan is demon too and now he want Tegan to free a demon's leader from hell. Gabriel himself have a shady past, his lover was torn and murdered by demons when he save someone from demon's attack. That's why he want his relationship with Tegan is strictly business and he doesn't want endanger Tegan.

Gabe doesn't know that Tegan is not meek and timid. Turn that she kick ass and doesn't back away when Gabe attacked by demon. Tegan is a karateka after all, and she also has dojo. When they visit Tegan's family, Tegan's dad said that their Welsh family have long history with demon. Theirs are descendants from Red Dragon, who banish White Dragon, and these dragons are demon. With this new clue, Tegan and Gabe hunt Tegan's attacker. And how surprise them when they know who make Tegan target, someone from Gabe's past. And when Gabe and Tegan's past collided, they must work their difference while kicking demon ass and also find their HEA.

Beg Me To Slay is my first foray into Lisa Kessler's books. This more like traditional paranormal romance, but I love that Tegan is not a damsell in distress, wait for her knight of shining armor to rescue her. In her note, Ms Kessler said that she is survivor too, and she wrote this when she fight with the darkness. So this book have some angst too, especially about Tegan and Gabe.

I like this couple, for Gabe not try to dominate Tegan, but honor her. It shows when he attend Karate class in Tegan's dojo. But somehow I want to smack him and said "move on already!". Gabe sometimes let him past caught up, therefore make he hurt Tegan more. I think sometimes the drama between Tegan and Gabe is too much and somehow too hurt to bear.

The action is plenty and the pace is fast, there was twist here and there. I would love to see Tegan and Gabe story continued, but the epilogue hint this just a stand alone novel. But if Ms Kessler decide to write more about Tegan and Gabe's story, especially when they slay some demons, I would love to read it.

Thanks for Entangled for provide the copy

i honestly don't think paranormal MF are for me. or perhaps i haven't read the ones i'd enjoy. this one was okay, but we basically went back and forth with the relationship which, really, ruined my experience with the book.
but also, i've skipped many pages and rolled my eyes quite a fair amount of times.

description
Kessler has a way with paranormal romance and her latest release is no exception. Tegan is a kick butt female lead who was assaulted but refuses to let herself be the victim. She is now a black belt in some martial art and wont hesitate to beat the crap outta someone if necessary. But just because she is stronger doesn't mean she isn't prone to weakness or fear and that's what I love about her. Her strength comes from overcoming her fear of being helpless, attacked or hurt.

Gabe, the slayer is more than simply human but his attraction to Tegan is sweet. They both fight against it because of their working relationship, hired help and all that jazz. It was annoying how dumb they both were when it came to their feelings but I forgave them for it. They were too cute and funny to stay mad at for long.

The plot was a good mix of romance and intrigue with a few surprise twists at the end to keep you on your toes. I have to admit Maddock, Tegan's Welsh father stole my heart for favorite character with his gruff, sweet way of going about life. I definitely recommend Beg Me to Slay if you're in the mood for paranormal romance!
