I LOVED this book! Something about it just made it so good, so readable, I needed to know what happened next! Maybe the writing style (I also listened to some of it on audiobook and the audiobook is also really good), the unique plot, the way it follows so many different stories and time jumps. The way it addresses so many aspects of life, carries wisdom, makes you invested in the characters. I thought it was a beautifully written book with an interesting plot that had a lot to say but not in an overly obvious way (except a few times where Cherry directly gives advice to the reader lol), and I would definitely recommend it!

A woman on a plane turns her fellow passenger’s lives upside down when she issues prophecies about the cause and age of each of their deaths. Each of them must choose how they process that information—to believe it or not, to make changes to their lives or not.

I just love Liane Moriarty’s character studies, and this book has many of them. I was invested in every storyline and loved the way the author grapples with agency and fate, and the reality or illusion of control. A philosophical read with lovable characters and just enough suspense to keep you turning pages.

Moriarty is back on her a game. I didn't love Apples Never Fall , but this felt like a return to her usual style. I like how Moriarty builds suspense in her novels, yet somehow they all feel different. This book kept me engaged and I just wanted to know what was happening and what was going to happen next. Cherry's plotline wasn't my favourite, but the rest of the book was so good that it made reading it worth it.

This was a decent new entry into Liane Moriarty's ouevre. While not the strongest of her books, it was a literal plane read for me and hit all the notes I would expect: excellent pacing, compelling characters, accessible language etc.

I found that I was most drawn to the first-person narrative of
the Death Lady and her background, especially the parts that described living as a young person in Sydney in the 1960s and 1970s.

It was probably the largest cast of characters she's had in any of her books, and I think they suffered slightly as she didn't have time to explore all of them to their full potential. The ending of the novel, and the big twist, didn't feel entirely earned.
