I found the first half somewhat difficult to get through. Felt it was a little slow, a little too meandering. But it gradually intensified and grew to hold my interest more firmly, and the slow powerful crescendo of the final 10% of the book had me in tears. What a beautiful read.

I really enjoyed this story! Cherry’s Death Lady episode on the plane is such an odd thing to think about. The idea that 2 things can be true at once - I wouldn’t want to know my cause / age of death, but there’s a small part of me that’s a little curious. And then the idea of a self-fulfilling prophecy vs. the mystical and magical. Thought provoking and a nice end of summer read.
