Hearn is the Craig Sager of the written word: the "white " guy with the loud ass jacket that woke people get thrown out of the cookout for making fun of because he was a beloved member of the community. And there wasn’t a community ( Greece, Ireland, Black Louisiana, Japan) that didn’t love him overall. In his journalism, novellas, and folk tales, he contributed more than his fair share of fabric to the gorgeous mosaic of world literature. This is a good compendium of his work.
