When Marcus is sent on a mission to find a rogue by Lucian, you can hardly say no, especially to such a ancient vampire. When Marcus finds the rogue, Basha Argeneau, he finds out that she is his lifemate-figures luck wouldn't be on his side. The woman he knows as Divine has many secrets, currently living among a circus, and everyone admires her greatly. They all think of her as kind and gentle and caring of others. This is not the woman that is supposed to be Basha. There are certain facts that aren't known to any of the Argeneau's, and now that she is his lifemate, he knows he must get to the truth, it may be the only way for them to be together. Basha, or Divine, has many secrets. She has had to live a life on the run, with no other option. She always believed that her uncle Lucian, to be hunting her and would kill her son if he every found him. Basha has done everything to forget the trauma of her past, and move forward. But when she finds out that Marcus is her lifemate, she is astounded and is wary at first. She knows that if Marcus were to ever find the truth, he would lose the love he claims to have for her.
I was able to obtain a copy of this ARC through Avon via Edelweiss. I am so glad I was able to read this. Vampire Most Wanted is the 20th in the series. Ever since I first discovered this author years ago, I fell in love with her writing and style. The way she has created this unique take on vampires, has always intrigued me. I love the science side of it. Vampire Most Wanted is a story that is full of secrets and intense emotion. I had no idea what to expect from Vampire Most Wanted, but by the end I knew I loved this one, and even though it leaves up some loose ends, I found this story to be heart wrenching and captivating. When you first start reading Vampire Most Wanted, it can be a bit confusing at first, since this is the first I have really heard anything about Basha. Or maybe I missed something on one of the previous books. Marcus is part of the Notte family, so I recognized him. I do love this family, and Marcus is just an amazing hero that steals your heart instantly. I love the faith he has in Basha, and is willing to do whatever it takes to stay by her side. I love the part that Lucian plays. Its so humorous to see how much fear he instills, when personally (he is my favorite, and is a teddy bear). But I enjoyed the setting-seeing into the life of a circus member. Very fascinating and the detail was vivid and very descriptive and makes you feel as if you need to join the circus just to experience it once.
The characters were lively and fun and dark at times. There is alot of information and past history we don't know until later in the story, so it keeps the reader on the edge in suspense. (But in the most delightful way) By the end you will have little to complain about, trust me on that one. There is two other couples we get to see involvement in, which is always fun to see. Basha is a very unique heroine. From the beginning you see how deep of a character she is. Basha is probably one of the older ancients, but the majority of her life spent in hiding. After you read this story, you heart is endeared completely to this heroine. At first I thought she was being too stubborn and prideful, when it came to running from her lifemate. But when you see what she has suffered in her lifetime, you understand and definitely are on her side. I loved the inner strength she portrays so well. Marcus is your typical lovely male hero, sexy, adventurous, willing to fight for the woman he loves--breathtaking man -love ya to pieces!! LOL
Overall a stellar romance that combines this unique world of ancients or vampires, intense intrigue, and a love story that will bring a tear to your eye. (You might need some tissues). A emotionally driven romance with action packed suspense, classic Sands wit, and a story line that captivates!!! A WINNER!!!

I read this book not knowing/realizing that it was part of a series. I know, I should have actually read the front cover when it said that it was an Argeneau novel, but all I cared about was that it was a vampire book and the back cover showed lots of promise.
Having said that I didn't know it was book 20 in the series, I can say that I was able to follow along without any issues. The book did a great job explaining things that were in previous books without being dull.
I absolutely love Basha and Marcus' story here!
I have since read some of the others and can say that reading them in order is good, but not 100% necessary.

I like to think that they didnt kill the daughter she had and that she ran away and will be in a future book. I liked the Carnival and hope its not the end of it all. Also glad that Marcus has something to do.
I'm still at a loss on what to think of this story, with some of it it was like someone else wrote it. I missed the funny banter between life mates in this book. The funniest thing was the bathroom scene where she says "oh crap" and he says "please don't " and did I miss the actual sex? Seriously did they ever have full on intercourse??
I enjoyed it....but where was the romance part? Felt like this was just a filler book to advance the Argeneau plot instead of a life mate story.
The book was good, although I don't think it was one of her best stories. I feel like she is having some writers block now because she came out with a new story, I think she needs to just write a little something different, other than that, the book was really good :) I also think she should have made Lucian catch Leo or at least Abeddon, or even made the story a little longer instead of ending it where she ended it.
I almost liked this one better than all of the previous installments in the series because there wasn't a long description of Atlantis and what the nanos are, etc. That annoys me in every one of the Argeneau books. This book read more smoothly because they were both vampires to start with.
These are getting boring. And I'm kind of a nerd when it comes to Vegas and when things are grossly misrepresented. Lyndsay Sands needs a new series. Maybe finish her historical romance.
This is book #20 in the Argeneau series, typically fun, witty and quick read.
My only complaint is that this is one book that the author wrote a story I wish had been written differently.
a high 3.5 stars
