This one is even better than Into the Woods!! Tana French's pacing was on point the whole time and the writing was still gorgeous. It is going to be a wrench to not be following Cassie's perspective in the 3rd installment. I'm going to miss her.

I know this took me forever to read, but I was distracted by other books along the way.

I liked this book better than the first in the series. The story is fascinating and Tana French is really good at stringing you along. Once I started reading in earnest, it was hard to put this book down. I was guessing "who dunnit" all the way to the end. Great, fun read.

I didn't like it quite as much as the first one, but boy can this woman do messed-up characters! Her writing continues to impress.

This is the 3rd books I've read by this author. I've enjoyed all of them although it took about 100 pages before I completely got involved in the story. I found the main character (Cassie) both inspiring and totally frustrating - good combination.

Not as good as book 1 but still very intriguing. Was hoping for more of Rob, I really missed him. I know he's a fuck up but he's such an interesting character and I loved his and Cassie's dynamic. Cassie was a little bit annoying in this book, if I'm being totally honest. I also thought she was pretty naive at times, which she definitely wasn't in book 1.

I do love the tone of Tana's writing. As if her books are all memoires of the main characters. You're reading the story through their eyes, their memories.

This story wasn't exactly action packed (it wasn't much of a thriller in that aspect), but it still kept me turning the pages. A really solid story by a very talented writer.
