It’s still an exciting and thrilling story, with a hitman, dream thieves, and also a normal teenage girl with a fantastic family.

While it's great to get a deeper insight into Ronan as a character, and also Adam, the other characters are lacking development.
Blue and Gansy's romance develops organically, but Moara and the Grey man's romance feels flat and like plot-convenience.
Although the villains (Kavinksy and the Grey man) all have well developed back stories, they feel too convenient and stereotypical, they lack something. The Grey man's story was in general did not engage me.
Maggie Stiefvater's writing is mostly in point, often witty and sometimes even beautiful.
With all the positive and negative things, it leaves the book with a solid three stars.
I hate the cliffhanger at the end though. It feels too convenient and unnatural again, like it's just there to force you to continue reading but doesn't fit the plot from before. Just for these last pages, I might take half a star later on.
Please excuse misspelled character names, I listened to the audio book.
Graphic: Death, Homophobia, and Violence
Moderate: Mental illness and Murder
