It is difficult to review any book in the middle of the series because it will give too much of away for those that might just be starting it. So let me stick to very general thoughts.
Stiefvater, as always, is a master of plot and character and dialogue and setting. And worldbuilding. Did I mention the worldbuilding? Oh, thats important.
New characters are introduced, who, are complicated and messy and great.
And the entire thing ends in a kick in the gut.

Still loving this series. The characters are great, and I'm becoming very invested in finding out how the Glendower plot will be resolved. Every time I look at the book I feel like I have a new favorite character, which is a good sign :)

I've realized the problem with reading ARCs is that, when it ends with a terrible, surprising, mythic, exciting cliffhanger, you have even LONGER to wait then if you'd read the book after its release date. So, now I'm buzzing with the need to read just one more chapter, just to find out what happens next, with nowhere to turn.
This is a middle book done right, done perfectly.
