This book is dark, filled with toxic masculinity and the danger of religious zealousness. Really liked the cadence of this novel and the writer's voice.
What a rollercoaster of questions and emotions. I’ve never felt so much anger and hate while reading towards 2 of the characters. Must read. It is written like a soap opera to keep sucked in.

I liked the author's use of language. (4****).
However, the plot was so overloaded with nasty people who did horrible things, and helpless people who were victims with secrets that it became predictable. I read the first third, skimmed the middle third or more, and then read the last several chapters to find out if my predictions were correct.

A 17 yo goes missing, the whole towns going crazy with wondering what happened to her? WOW this book. It’s told from multiple povs all with secrets of their own.
It kind of reminded me of agggtm with a high school student trying to find out what happened to her best friend since the small town police department aren’t doing a good enough job.
& on top of having such terrible cops, you also have the pastor taking the Bible too literal. It was all around crazy!! & twists and turns with every page. & the ending!! Lawd. Now I’m going to see if this author has any other books!!
