This book follows Olive the final triplet in the maxwell family to find love. I really enjoyed that the focus was about her finding ways to get outside her comfort zone. However I did feel like it lacked some of the plot dynamics the first two books had. Olive is the most relatable of the three sisters and I was so excited for her to finally get a book. Her friendship with  Bax , the long standing crush they have for each other, and their forced proximity  made the tension in this book sky rocket. I feel like the chemistry of the two main characters in this book was superior.

I know this is a witchy read, but I've been itching to read this since October!! Figured I'd bust it out.
I listened to part while at work & read other parts while on lunch/break. So, I consumed this book utilizing both of these media platforms.

Quick Summary - Olive moves into Baxters apartment - they both are attracted to one another but never pursue it. Olive has a Docket List project about performing tasks that take you out of your comfort zone, and because of this, Bax is assigned as her Guardian angel. He helps her complete the list, keeping her safe the entire way, and also pleasures her multiple times. This roommate, forced prox, forbidden relationship brings the two to the realization that they love one another.

I absolutely adore Olive, even as a side character in the prior two books. Her shy, bookish, quirkyness has always been a fun addition to the world. She's funny, level-headed, and always so kind & sweet.
Bax was kind of a mystery in the prior books. He was a good friend, always around, and you could tell that he had Olives' attention, but his intentions & personality were well hidden. During this book, you learn he is truly a warm cinnamon roll, a bit heavy on the cinnamon, but still super gooey. He is heavily tattooed & rides a motorcycle, totally broody, and we learn of all of his piercings (🪜). He is an artist at heart. He doodles/draws and actually uses the tattoo gun.

Anyways. I loved this one just as much as the others. I loved that Bax helped with an impromptu dance routine for the competition. That was so fun.
I loved the *winged action*
I loved the way these two fell in love.
I loved that Olive kept evading him, gave him a run for his money & truly made him grovel.
I loved that Bax gave a big Ole middle finger to his dad.

Not your crushes cauldron was a pretty good story. I really enjoyed Olive and her siblings and her best friend. I thought the relationship was really special and important to have and to show different ways that they played into one another and helped add funny banter and make fun situations happen. I thought that Bax why a fun male lead. He was very broody, but also had a super big soft spot for Olive and it made you smile. Especially, when he had convinced himself to follow through with her crazy ideas and you know that he was truly doing it out of his deepening feelings for her, and it made you as a reader just want them to be so happy together. I found that while Bax and Olive were working together through her checklist that they both helped each other gain a better understanding of themselves as people and what they can do and how they can be seen to others and how important that is to show ones true self and how important that is.

The reason I am rating it how I am is because I wasn’t very motivated to read the story. I was very easily sidetracked away from the book each time I started to read it. It didn’t really keep my attention like I expected it to and that is the main reason of why it’s not getting anything higher than what it is. The overall story itself is good, but just lacked being able to hold on to my attention for a long period of time.
