I love Jonasson's abrupt and blunt style. It's something I've not really seen elsewhere before and for me lends itself well to the humour in the stories.

Again from him this is a fun, funny adventure story that twisted and turned just where I didn't quite expect, but which made me smile each time.

Just like 100 Year Old Man, this stylised story isn't going to be for everyone, but I thought it was lovely!

I don’t know what it is about Scandinavian authors, but they have a very distinct writing style. Or perhaps they have the same translator? This book is difficult to give a synopsis for. It follows a group of characters both apart and together as they deal with a possibly apocalyptic threat. But they do it in a very rational, down-to-earth way. It has subtle humour and you do have to go into it with a certain level of suspension of disbelief, as there are a lot of coincidences and things that make little sense if examined thoroughly, but where is the fun in that? An enjoyable read, finished it in a single day!
