I guess I don't get it?
I don't really see why people love this so much. I'm asuming it's because of the back mirror-esque feeling and ending.
Personally I would say it's a solid dystopian-like sci-fi about a citiszenship test. It also provides nice social commentary.
For me I just found it predictable. When I hear 'like a black mirror episode' I maybe don't expect the ending but I at least expect some darker turns to it, which is what was the case. I'm left wondering why people love it soooo much because while it is solid and good, I don't get all the hype

I loved this novella, it’s dark and it felt like a black mirror episode. Highly recommended.

I read The Test by Sylvain Neuvel while walking from the library to the cinema. I felt dizzy by the end because I barely looked up and suddenly the floor was moving. Sorry to the people who had to dodge around me, but once I'd started I couldn't stop reading.
This is a quick read, only a 100 pages. It’s a thought-provoking look at a dystopian UK complete with appalling immigration policies. (Well, more appalling.)
This novella feels a bit like watching a Black Mirror episode, only worse. If that’s your sort of thing, you’ll like it.
