I normally don't enjoy "dark" books that lean heavily on the erotica side, but I think this was very well done.

From the beginning, all of the characters are created in a believable way, with their personalities discovered effortlessly as the story continues. You truly feel for Lola and her partner, as their stagnate life, and how it affects their relationship, is slowly developed.

The initial flirting between Beau and Lola was written wonderfully, so that you could truly feel the dichotomy in Lola of feeling both extremely uncomfortable and unexpectedly drawn in.

Once the plot continues, the tension is built up beautifully, and in a way that truly develops both Beau and Lola. It wouldn't be a "rich man buys a woman for a night" book without some pushing of boundaries that makes you as the reader uncomfortable along with Lola, but I thought it was tastefully done here where it's normally the make or break of stories for me.

My only criticisms are that Beau's mood swings near the end seem almost too much for his character, and that I found one of the flashbacks annoying to read since it referred to an event that had only just happened.
