This was a frustrating read... it was so scattered as far as overall plot. It dragged... I got no sense of who these people were.

Omg omg omg!! Where do I start?
This book had me in knots, it had me hooked and emotional through the entire thing. I want to love Johnny, Lola's boyfriend of nine years but something holds me back. There's something about him the makes him safe and the wrong man for Lola from the beginning.
Lola has led a life that many wouldn't be proud of, she a waitress/bartender at a washed up bar in LA, Hey Joe's, it was a hot spot in it's hay day but now has fallen off the map. Living paycheck to paycheck is not the life lola dreamed of but its the life she has. She's made the most of what she's dealt and is happy with her life, but every once in a while she wants more.
Beau Oliver wants for nothing, except Lola, when he sees her he knows he needs to have her even if she has a boyfriend. He makes an offer to Johnny and Lola that rocks the boat they are in and the waters may never settle.

I'm unbelievably hooked and need book 2 ASAP! My mind is running away with me, Jessica has officially sucked me into another series and has me hook, line and sinker.

You can definitely tell that this is a free ebook. The plot was focused on her wanting the money to help her man/supposed one true love, he wanted to win the woman and have his way with her. A weird plot and if I read the description of this book before I downloaded it I might not have actually read this. I think there are some weird relationship pushing and that there should be a better understanding of consent. I think the idea of buying her to be a possession for the night blurs the idea of consent and it makes me wonder about the man. The writing style was meh and could have been improved. I have no desire to continue this series and honestly reading the descriptions of the other books in the series you understand what happens.

I liked it I felt like it was a more explicit version of Pretty Woman - the only thing I didn’t like is the cliffhanger at the very end :( but I suppose you have too to get more books out of it! For a free book on Bookbub I can’t complain is was really good and well written !

Firstly the cover is beautiful and hot at the same time. <3 Cannot wait for my books to arrive.

Jessica Hawkins has weaved a wonderful story once again. Just finished this book and I loved it so much.

This book was just too beautifully written, the story was brilliant and paced so well. I was hooked from the first chapter. The characters were real and with their own flaws which is what I love about Jessica Hawkins' books. She has heroines and heros that are realistic, they have their good, their bad, their ugly and everything else...

Story started off with the introduction of Lola and Johnny, they're currently running a bar which isn't at it's greatest at the moment.

Enter Beau Olivier...
And the attraction between Beau and Lola is undeniable.

Beau comes up with a business proposal which gives Johnny and Lola an opportunity to own the bar and save it from being sold to someone else.

I had not expected this business proposal at all, I almost disliked him for a moment until I read further on. He came from a similar background, before he was rich and a millionaire, he was there in their place and worked his way up. I loved the small bit of background that show about him.

The proposal was accepted! *Loved that it did but Johnny should have stopped heer, had he loved her enough he would have, my only thought on this is neither Lola or Johnny love each other as they think.

The more I learned about Beau, I loved the guy even more. Not to forget he was hot. Jessica Hawkins sure has some hot men in her books. First David Dylan and now Beau Olivier. Wonder who's next...

Lola despite trying to seem like she's not liking the deal she'd made, she wants it. She wanted it just as much as Beau did. Though I am confused with Beau.
Why did he choose Lola and not someone else? He's handsome, rich, a millionaire I would say, so he could have chosen any other woman, why Lola?

A part of me feels as if he's trying to save her from the life he's once lived. Or he sees that Johnny can't give her the life she deserves. Like Beau said, she should be treated like a Queen.

Glad at least for that one night he'd made her feel like a Queen.

Don't wanna delve into this too deep because I don't wanna ruin this for others.

Waiting for my paperbacks to arrive so I'd be able to read the next books. Katy Perry's song 'Thinking of you' is playing in my head. I'm guessing in the next book that's what Lola would be doing. Whilst she's back to her life after that night, she'd be thinking of Beau.

*Received a copy from Jessica Hawkins in exchange for an honest review*

This book was an Amazon freebie. It sounded like a movie I once heard about but never watched.
The book was ok. In truth it was better than I anticipated! There were interesting monogamous twists and a real longing for love in it. It was not bad and the writing was actually pretty good.
I am not sure I will venture any further into the series but the first book was much better than I thought it would be.

Dnf at 25%... And that's with a lot of skimming.

Lola had a boyfriend.. Strike 1.
Said boyfriend tells Lola to flirt with Beau for business.... Strike 2.
I'm reading about Lola and Johnny's lame sex and then I'm expected to read about Lola and Beau later? Nope.... Strike 3. I'm out.
