Good story of how Viola overcame her upbringing to find herself and forgive, heal, and grow.

Having Viola narrate the audiobook made it so much better! Viola’s childhood was something most of us can’t even imagine. Hearing how she not only survived but turned her life into something so different than what she was around was remarkable and inspiring. My only complaint with the memoir was that occasionally she would mention something out of order timeline wise. I get it’s hard to talk about one’s life in a linear way, but it can be a little distracting or confusing as a reader sometimes. Overall though, I a good story about an incredibly hardworking woman.
