Stephanie wrote something special here. This gave me so much hope regarding my own healing. Very intense inspiring read.

This book doesn't pretend healing is tidy. Her honesty about trauma, recovery, and the mess in between made it hit even harder.

Part memoir, part informational text, in this book Foo does not shy away from stripping herself bare with respect to her trauma. She delves deep on C-PTSD—what it is, what its effects are, what are some treatments for it. She also touches on how race (unsurprisingly) has a role in trauma, in this case highlighting her Asian American experience.
Major trigger warnings for child abuse.
