i don’t remember what happened in this book i’m so sorry i’ve been slacking so hard on reviews i am 20 books behind and i forget the characters names immediately after i close a book let alone the plot of a book i finished over a month ago. so i cant tell you why i rated it 3.75 and not 4 the mmc probably did something to piss me off in some way because men ruin everything but im sure it was good enough i just do not remember. IM SORRY IM SOOOORRYYYYY

Riggs might be Off the Grid but he drove straight in to my heart! Ladies! We have ourselves the best kind of guy…and I can’t help but picture Paul Walker’s cute smile on Riggs. He is cocky {and it’s so

3.5 ⭐️ overall a very good read! love the friendship between cami and her girls. timeline a little confusing, especially in terms of f1 schedule if you’re not a fan — only reason the book lost points with me. and spicy scenes left a little something to be desired but not terrible

2.25 ⭐ max.

nah this wasn't it.. there was no emotional connection whatsoever.. in my opinion they were just horny for each other.. also her comparing her dad to riggs' dad.. I get that both situations are challenging but their situation were NOT "similar" like at all.. hell nah.. wasn't feeling it

4.5 stars

Spencer is a cocky crazy racecar driver, looking to get a ride in F1. Camille is returning home to the family racing business as marketing director. Spencer and Camille have the worst first meeting yet they build together. Drunk Spencer is hilarious, love his IG posts.  Camille and Spencer are two broken halves that fit perfectly together as one.  Bromberg’s emotional angsty style is back in the Full-Throttle series. Fans of the driven will be ecstatic as we see the world through F1 hotties eyes.

Off the Grid is the first book in the Full Throttle series, but it can be read as a standalone.

Camila Moretti and Spencer Riggs meet in a bar, and Riggs practically insults her. Fast forward a bit, and Camila is now working for her father. He owns Moretti Motorsports, but he is dealing with health issues, and he needs Camila’s help in marketing. Returning to the Formula 1 world is not something she wanted to do, but she does it for her father. If going back to the past that haunts her isn’t bad enough, the guy who made her a joke, Riggs, is now part of the Moretti racing team as a driver.

This book is emotional and deals with some very heavy topics. I will list them below my review, but they may be potential spoilers (so, that’s just a warning if you don’t want any spoilers).

Camila is kind of closed off and reserved, in the beginning. She doesn’t like going out or putting herself out there. But after Riggs “disrespects” her, she decides not to let him have that kind of power over her and puts him in his place. She’s very strong, independent, and intelligent. She really helped Moretti Motorsports’s marketing and took it to the next level. Throughout the story, she struggled to open up, but eventually she was able to let her guard down and talk about her past.

Riggs is such an a**hole and extremely cocky when we first meet him. It took me a long time to warm up to him. The way he treated Camila when they met was awful. I was so upset for her. And every time he sees her, he can’t resist pushing her buttons. But somewhere along the way, he realizes that he truly has feelings for her. He “helps” her with image by helping her see that she’s perfect the way she is. Except that wasn’t really the problem…but the reason she “hides” her body is something that she opens up to him about. And Riggs, his life was all about racing and achieving his dad’s dream. Until he realized that there are some things more important.

I loved all the banter between Camila and Riggs. Camila was a little “broken” from her past trauma, but she never acted weak. She was the one to protect and help her father when he needed her. She did what she had to do for the company, no matter what. But Riggs. Like I said, I didn’t think I would like him. I mean, his a**hole attitude and the way he misjudged Camila really made me mad. But when he got to know her, he realized she had a reason for dressing the way she did. He didn’t push her and waited until she was ready to tell him. Even then, he didn’t ask for details and just listened with understanding. And then, his protectiveness? Not only did he want to hurt those who hurt her, but when his career was on the line, all he had to do was tell the truth. But that would have involved telling her secrets, and he refused to break her trust. So, yeah. It’s safe to say he won me over.

Now, I loved how this story truly came full circle. The beginning was almost mirrored near the end, but with a different outcome. There’s also so much love, trust, healing, and growth throughout this story. This was my first K. Bromberg series, but it won’t be the last!

I went into this wanting to love it since it's only the 2nd racing romance I've encountered. Overall, it was a good story, and I had a lot of fun at various points in Riggs and Cami's story. However, it felt unresolved. By the time that I moved past Riggs being an insanely obnoxious MMC and began to love him, it was all over. I would have liked to see more of the plot points fleshed out, more of the challenges faced head on and worked through. It kind of felt like a lot of the strife was forgotten and then thrown together last minute to wrap things up.

As far as the audio goes, excellent choices were made for the narration. Shane East is ALWAYS going to be top tier. Carly Robins was new to me, but she certainly knocked it out of the park. As with most audio books, I beg for Duet narration. I understand it's not always feasible but my god, I wish it was. They're respective gender-swapped voices took me out of the moment a few times but it wasn't anything I couldn't work through.

Thanks to NetGalley for the chance to listen to the audio book of this work in exchange for an honest review.
