Neat concept book for young kids. Wish it included some additional information or back matter to include more learning to be done from the concept.

Really cool book. I would even use this for fifth grade! Food chains in different habitats. Illustrations have hidden animals. Could challenge students to make a page to add to the book.

An interesting way to look at food chains. The "I will eat you" refrain is appealing to the younger set, and the lingering "but..." has readers wondering which other animals are higher on this particular food chain. The opposing (upper) page shows the environment in which these animals all eat each other, and at the end is a glossary of sorts that labels each of the animals. I wish the animals had just been labeled on the pages; the backmatter approach makes it a bit of a seek-and-find process to identify each animal.

A very basic introduction, no additional information about the animals or environment is given, and the environments are not labeled in any way. So 10 out of 10 for fun, and for being a hook that might encourage readers to hunt out more detailed information later. Also, the pictures are just adorable, not to mention the clever way they are framed before the flaps open.
