Nothing too iconic but it was an solid story and was executed well. Fulled a desire in me to see Katie McGrath play a fae queen.

The writing was beautiful but I think I prefer some of Simone's darker works

Jannath Carter, self described as "insatiable" is an archaeologist student who gets kidnapped one night and taken for the Queen.
I usually don't prefer plots like these because of the dub-con and problematic relationship developments, but i did not get those vibes with this read. Some of this is due to how the relationship seems more sexual than romantic, and the other is due to Jannath's enjoyment of the predicament. While it did highly inconvenient her, the benefits greatly outweigh whatever consequences she was suffering with.
On that note, it is a nice short read to enjoy during the weekend. The ending was a bit flat, and i do wish there was another chapter or so about Jannath's new life in the Fae Realm, but it is good enough as is.

Another stellar read by Sierra Simone. I finished it in one sitting and all I know is I need more of her writing fantasy worlds.
More beautiful language/prose and spicy and enthralling sex scenes. What more could I want in a novella?
I rated it 4 instead of 5 because well, it’s short. And I wanted more of these characters. But go in knowing it’s meant to be a quick, snappy read, and you’ll have a fun time.

Good little read. I think if this book had been longer time it would've made a great story. I didn't connect with the characters enough to care about any déclarations of love or care about the fate of the faerie world. Some of the dialogue is also a bit cringe but this is not my first Sierra Simone book so I knew what I was getting going in. Spice was good but again short lived. I did enjoy the description of the faerie castle and loved the idea. Just read a bit more like quickly scribbled fan fiction to me more than anything else.
